The biggest no-pitch, no-conference startup festival of the Central European region is launching again!

Crowdfunding CESA Award

Nominations for the biggest no-pitch, no-conference startup festival in the Central-Eastern European region are open. The Central European Startup Awards (CESA) will be held in Vienna this year, on the 8th of October to celebrate and promote the entrepreneurial spirit of the CEE region.

The Central European Startup Awards is a unique award show, committed to advocate and celebrate the startup spirit of the CEE region and to pin the region to the global startup map.  The festival brings together 10 countries, nearly 4.000 startups and their ecosystems for the second time this year.

Nominations open online through the website on the 24th of June and anyone can nominate their startup hero in 8 categories until the 13th of August.  The best of the bests will be announced in each country in late August-early September and the crème de la crème will go on to compete on the Grand Finale. The decision on who are the next superstars of the CE startup ecosystem is decided by the CESA Jury Board, which includes acclaimed think thanks and opinion leaders such as Sean Percival of 500 startups, Johann Brennen of Creandum, Sridhar Solur of IoT and Wearables at HP, Shira Abel of Hunter and Bard, Gunnar Froh from Wundercar and many more.

Besides having the must-have categories of ‘Startup of the Year’ and ‘Investor of the Year’, CESA is also looking for the most inspirational woman, the best social impact startup and the most popular co-working space this year!

“We are really proud of our last year’s winners and are committed to bring in even more amazing projects for the world to see this year. For example Speedinvest, our Service Provider of the Year 2014 went on to be an unavoidable investment powerhouse in the CE region, the Startup of the Year 2014 winner UXPin is a weapon of choice today for most UX professionals across Europe and overseas. We encourage everyone to tag along with us and let’s show the world that Central Europe is another hot startup region” – says Peter Kovacs, the CEO of Central European Startup Awards.

The Startup Awards was launched in 2012 to provide a spotlight focus to startups in the Nordic region. The organizers realized that not only in the Nordic countries do they deserve recognition for the hard work they do, but also in other regions around Europe and the world.

The first Central European Startup Awards was organized in 2014 with 8 participating countries, more than 1.000 online nominations and 350 Grand Finale attendees in Budapest. This year the Grand Finale will be held in Vienna, in Hotel Schani and the Startup Awards will also launch in South-East Asia, thus bringing together 3 regions, and more than 15.000 startups globally.
